The Sacramento Chapter

Sacramento... The Premier NARPM Chapter.

Sacramento is one of 70 Chapters of the National Association of Residential Property Managers. The Sacramento Chapter was formed in 1992 and is the largest chapter on the mainland and one of the most progressive chapters in the National Association. In addition to more than 100 Property Manager members, we have about 70 Affiliate Members who represent virtually every specialty needed to run a successful property management business today. We encourage all members to participate in chapter and committee activities. Our regular luncheon meetings are designed for networking and information sharing.

Our Chapter Education program has received national recognition. We offer classes taught by experienced professionals and designed to help our members become better property managers. Members can attend state and national conferences and benefit from these additional educational and networking opportunities.

Our History

Several members of NARPM from across the nation held a meeting here in Sacramento in 1992 at which they shared with a small crowd of property managers what NARPM was and the benefits of being a member. There were already organizations geared towards managers of commercial properties and multifamily properties, but none where the focus was just on management of single family residences. Nearly everyone at that initial meeting joined NARPM right away, and thus, Sacramento became the fourth chapter in the nation, after Phoenix, Houston, and Colorado Springs.

Since then, it has almost continuously been the largest chapter in the nation.

Sacramento hosted their first State convention in 1997. This consisted of speakers, classes and roundtables at which members participated in a variety of topics. Classes were also offered to those working toward their respective designations.

1997 was also the year that Sacramento received the prestigious national award of Chapter of the Year. The chapter also has won ten Chapter Excellence award.
